This piece combines a tourmaline with a diamond-shaped cut with round, lustrous onyx beads. The diamond shape is also used in traditional Japanese patterns, and the "makibishi" (scattered caltrops) used by ninjas to escape pursuit are said to be based on the water chestnut. The result is a modern piece with a distinctly Japanese feel. The posts are intentionally long to allow you to appreciate the subtle nuances.
